Plugins and skills
Editor extensions from Open VSX, and skills that teach the agent a repeatable procedure.
Plugins are extensions
AstraCode runs extensions installed from Open VSX. Language support, themes, linters and formatters all work as you would expect. Microsoft's own marketplace is not used, because its terms restrict it to Microsoft's builds, so a small number of Microsoft-published extensions are unavailable.
Open the extensions view from the + menu under the composer, or the activity bar.
Skills
A skill is a procedure you want followed the same way every time: a release checklist, a review rubric, a deploy sequence. It is a folder of instructions, and optionally scripts, that the agent loads when the work calls for it.
Skills differ from rules: a rule always applies, a skill is loaded when relevant. Use a rule for "never commit to main"; use a skill for "how we cut a release".
