Memories
One-sentence facts about your project that the agent keeps between sessions.
A memory is a single durable fact: *this repo uses pnpm*, *tests sit beside the source*, *the deploy script must be run from the release branch*. Something that will still be true next month and that the agent would otherwise rediscover, or get wrong, every session.
What is not a memory
Not a summary of a conversation, not a plan, not a transcript. Those are worthless next week and cost context on every run forever.
You approve every one
The agent asks before saving, in every mode including Bypass. A memory goes into the system prompt of every future session in that project, indefinitely, and nothing later in the conversation reveals that it happened, so an unreviewed memory is a standing instruction you never agreed to. That is not something Bypass opted into.
Where they live
Outside the repository, keyed to the folder, never committed. Two clones of one repository are genuinely different setups and the facts worth keeping about them differ, so they are keyed by path rather than by remote.
Review and delete them from AstraCode Settings. Turn the whole feature off with astracode.memories.enabled.
